Grote Kerk Harlingen
IN CONTACT WITH
A roaring sea. Raging sea monsters bash the embankments and storm into the city. They furiously drag children into the sea, forever. Where are they? A breathtaking lullaby provides surprises.
Life sized puppets, music, singing and dancing before a colourful backdrop tell a story about the centuries-old fear of the storming sea and about loss. But also about the comfort provided by the safe terp and its church.
A special visual theatre spectacle in and around the Grote Kerk of Harlingen. With a dance group, various choirs, a band, an organist creating storms with the organ and with a puppet show by children from the city’s primary schools.
Brought to you by Tieneke van Montfort: puppet show, Wies Noest: director and artistic leader, Frank Belt: narrator, Karen Apon: visual artist, Eeuwe Zijlstra: organist, dance group Duende, primary and secondary students from Harlingen, Zilt artists’ society, pop band, Koor Grutte Pier, Vereniging Oud Harlingen, Gemeentemuseum het Hannemahuis, Kunstuitleen HA-15 Harlingen, Stichting Expeditieschip Willem Barentsz, Beng Evenementen.
